Vessels with antifouling bottom coatings must periodically strip away all of the coatings to reduce paint film thickness build up. We recommend that yachts perform this service every 10 years, and smaller boats on an as needed basis.

Occasionally, the bottom paint must be removed due to incompatible paint systems, poor substrate preparation, or improperly applied paint systems.
